Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery Statement for Man and Van Bow
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Man and Van Bow takes to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chains. As a provider of man and van and related transport services, we recognise our responsibility to act ethically, protect human rights and promote fair working conditions in every area of our business.
Modern slavery is a serious crime and a fundamental violation of human rights. It includes slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, bonded labour, deceptive or coercive recruitment, child labour that is exploitative or hazardous, and human trafficking. Man and Van Bow is fully committed to ensuring that none of these practices have any place in our business or among our suppliers.
Our Zero-Tolerance Policy
Man and Van Bow operates a clear and strict zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery and human trafficking. We do not accept, condone or ignore any form of forced labour, exploitation or abuse, whether within our own workforce or in the organisations that supply us with goods and services.
All employees, subcontractors, temporary workers, and agency staff are expected to uphold this commitment. Any individual or organisation found to be involved in modern slavery will face immediate and decisive action, which may include termination of employment, ending of contracts, and, where appropriate, reporting to relevant authorities.
Suppliers and Due Diligence
Our supply chain includes providers of vehicles, fuel, equipment, uniforms, facilities, and related professional services. We recognise that risks can arise at any point in these chains and therefore take a proactive and risk-based approach to supplier management.
We seek to work only with suppliers and partners who share our values and can demonstrate that they operate in line with applicable labour and human rights laws. As part of our due diligence, new suppliers are assessed on their approach to ethical labour practices, and we expect them to be transparent about their own supply chains and controls.
Supplier Audits and Monitoring
Man and Van Bow is committed to monitoring compliance with our zero-tolerance stance. We reserve the right to carry out supplier audits and checks, particularly where we identify higher risks due to sector, geography, or the nature of services provided.
These audits may include requesting evidence of labour policies, reviewing working conditions, and verifying that workers have been recruited and are employed voluntarily, on fair terms, and with full legal rights. Where any concerns are identified, we will engage with the supplier to implement corrective actions within an agreed timeframe. If meaningful improvement is not achieved, we may suspend or terminate the relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
We encourage anyone connected with Man and Van Bow, including employees, subcontractors, suppliers, and members of the public, to raise concerns about possible modern slavery or unethical practices. Reports can be made through any manager or senior member of the business, or directly to company leadership, verbally or in writing.
We are committed to investigating all reports fairly, promptly, and confidentially as far as possible. No one who raises a concern in good faith will suffer any form of retaliation, disadvantage, or termination as a result of speaking up. Where we find evidence of modern slavery, we will take immediate action and, where appropriate, involve relevant enforcement bodies.
Training and Awareness
To support our zero-tolerance approach, we work to raise awareness of modern slavery risks among our staff and key suppliers. This includes making our expectations clear during induction for new team members and reinforcing them during ongoing management briefings and internal communications.
By helping colleagues identify potential warning signs, such as signs of coercion, restricted freedom of movement, or suspicious working arrangements, we aim to ensure that concerns are recognised and reported as early as possible.
Annual Review and Continuous Improvement
Man and Van Bow is committed to reviewing this Modern Slavery Statement and our related processes at least once every year. The annual review will consider changes in legislation, emerging best practice, developments in our operations and supply chains, and any issues or incidents that have been reported.
Following each review, we will update our policies and procedures where needed, enhance due diligence for higher risk areas, and strengthen training and awareness initiatives. Our objective is to continuously improve how we identify, prevent, and address modern slavery risks, ensuring that our services are delivered in a way that respects the dignity and rights of every person.
This statement has been approved by the management of Man and Van Bow and represents our ongoing commitment to combating modern slavery and human trafficking in all their forms.
